Prayer

God delights in any simple words we offer Him.

Prayer is Powerful

Summit Baptist Church is a church centered around prayer because prayer is powerful. There are dozens of real-life accounts in the Bible where Jesus and other disciples battled in prayer. God shut the heavens and prevented rain from falling for three years at Elijah’s request. He parted the red sea for Moses to lead His people through. Jesus cast out demons; He healed the sick and gave sight to the blind, and, on more than one occasion, raised people from the dead, like Lazarus.

Prayer is an act of worship that glorifies God and reinforces our need for Him. Through living a life of prayer, we communicate with the very source of and purpose for our existence.
God invites, encourages, and wants us to talk to Him. We are to come to Him in faith (James 1:5), with persistence (Luke 18:1), with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), within His will (Matthew 6:10), and from a heart that is right with God (James 5:16). In fact, in Luke 18:1 we read, “And he (Jesus) told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.”

Hebrews 4:14-16 talks about Jesus as our High Priest and says He can sympathize with us. Hebrew 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” We have been given access to the very throne of God through prayer.
If you find yourself in need of prayer for any reason, it would be our pleasure to pray for you. Here are some resources available to share your requests with us:

Submit your prayer request by clicking the link below. This sends your request to our online Prayer Cloud. You can keep your request anonymous or make it public. Making a public request will post your request on this page, and allow our entire church family to lift you up in prayer. Anonymous requests are prayed for by the Summit Prayer Team.

We would also like to invite you to join us for Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings. The meet takes place at 6:00 PM, every Wednesday night, in the Fellowship Hall.

Please pray my husband Tirrek gives his heart and life to Jesus.. he lusts after other women online and is mean to me with his words. This has really made me not really trust him anymore and we argue all the time now. Please pray God restores our marriage, and saves him we are a young married couple with an almost 11 month old baby and another one on the way. I feel like there’s no hope but with GOD all things are possible
